The family project began late 2023 after finding it hard to find suitable places to go for our family. With the diversity of qualities, and the comments in search engines and maps not really reflecting reality, we decided to share some of the trips and visits we do around Larissa. We focus on kids-friendly destinations preferably (but not always) with wheelchair access, successful locations are marked on this map.

 Taverna o GiannisNext to the road just before entering the town of Elati you find this taverna. Its a nice place to calm down voiding the touristic setting in the town. Reasonable sized plates for a suitable price. |  PrioniaAt 1100m altitude, below the peak of Olympus, the Tavern Prionia is found. They have a tasty Goat soup and the food comes fast. Thereby, you might have to park up to a kilometer away along the street if you come in a weekend in the summer as this also is the start point of one of the more popular treks up to the peak of Olympus. |  PerigialiA taverna with the waves splashing in just beneath the table. Shiny clean shallow water for the kids to play in while adults having a break. We were there off peek hours, and were able to keep the table while swimming. I recommend the octopus! Parking is in the bottom of the steep hill. Parking in Chorto town gives a very nice walk along the sea to the bay where Perigiali is located. |  The Newton ParkFun for the kids with physics presented in a practical way with engaging activities. The 4 year old was mostly looking through the fence at the neighbour park where they had cars, so mayby not for the youngest ones. Mesostrati is a good nearby restaurant as the park only serves toast. Adults gets a cup of coffe included in the ticket. |  River ArtA Fairytale cafe with home made sweets and colorful interior.
